Rain gear for outdoor work, suggestions plz

I do tree work and I'm trying to find some gear for the oncoming wet season. Looking around $100-140 price range for top and bottom combo, something breathable and durable would be ideal. Not really worried about anything insulated, just something to keep dry. I have already looked at the grundens breathables, Viking brand, Carhartt and Helly Hansen. Any input would be great, thanks!

Water shed, vinyl nitryl. Love the stuff. Light weight but extremely tough. I wouldnt even consider rubberized rain gear for the last 15 years. I wore The watershed stuff when I worked for the railroad.Abused the heck out of it and it lasted forever. Never felt like I was in a sauna,like the other stuff.

I bought some at Sunbirds a few years ago at about $55 apiece.

Watershed makes different types of rain gear. Make sure its the vinyl nitryl.

The real marine shops like the ones that cater to the commercial fisherman out at Westport carry very inexpensive workable rain gear.  There ought to be such store closer than Westport to you but more than likely towards the coast.

Seattle marine in Ballard has a pretty decent selection of rain gear... The rain gear I use at work is similar to helly Hansen, it gets pretty warm while working though. Anything with goretex should work well, though durability may be an issue.

If you want zero insulation I really dig the cheap frogg toggs. However, the milsurp rain gear is pretty good, it's just that it doesn't breathe at all.

Yeah, Filson waxed cotton is pretty expensive but you'll only need to buy it once.  I doubt most plastic/vinyl/goretex rainwear can hold up to brush and tree work for very long...

I use the Carhartt Astoria gear for construction (heavy concrete) and have 0 complaints.
I also use it when riding my motorcycle in the rain, I also use it hunting the west side for elk.
Works awesome though a bit pricey.
I've had mine for five years and not one bad thing to say about it.
If I ever wear it out I'll but another set.

Check out the Filson seconds at the Burlington outlet.  Probably still a bit on the high side for budget but I wear the chit out of mine and have no complaints.
