Blacktail Decisions
« on: October 07, 2012, 08:40:49 PM »
I can't make up my mind witch one of these bucks I should spend modern chasing. The bigger buck is within a mile of the gate, so I figure he will go nocturnal after the opening morning rush.
The big 3 pt is about 5 miles back, but I hav'nt had a picture or seen him in awhile.
Probably waisting my time thinking about it. Seems like I always change my mind ,as i'm riding up the road.     Can't wait till saturday.  :chuckle:

Not sure where your land is but more than likely it will be closed due to fire danger?  :dunno:

I think I'm going to get lucky. It was closed for about a week in a 1/2, but re-opened this weekend. Not Quite sure why it was closed in the first place. It has been alot drier in this particular area in past summers.

Nice bucks. Either would be a good day. The second pic is the one I would pic not just because of the size but because you probably have a better shot at him and who knows the other buck might be back there too especialy if you have to hunt past opening day. Good luck either way.

i would go after the second one, it looks like old reprod that he is hiding in, might be easier to wait him out than the one in the big timber and ferns, unless it is pissn down rain then i would go after the first on, its is a little easier to sneak around in the ferns when its hammering dowen rain.... but either would do, good luck....

You'd be foolish to not spend time going after that tank in the black and white pic, they'll both be equally hard to find, but just because they're nocturnal doesn't mean you can't try to bust them out of there beds! That's why it's called hunting  :)

2nd one. looks like a older heavy buck. Let the first one grow another year then get him.

Yea, they have both dissapeared. I dont have a picture of any buck in the last 3 weeks. Just bears and does.
Probably wont see either till halloween week.
