is there some good books or other source to figure out what to look for and how to set traps right want to get started next year here in Montana but don't know anyone that traps that can mentor me or is it all trial and error?

Might be able to find a mentor.

My trapping partner and I are making a couple trapping "how to DVDs" this winter. Showing out gear, areas we look for, how to make the sets, and how to process the fur. I'll keep everyone posted. We doing a general overall line and a spring line.

Got a silver this morning! Checked a couple sets on the way to work in the early am hours in the dark just ran outside and snapped couple pics of him. I'll get a better pic once he thaws out. Got him in a snare. Will continue my check after work tonight.
