This is a different thread for sure.
Ohh by the way guys did you know that  the watershed, Dayton, wenaha, and Colockum units have elk in them???  :yike: Oh yeah eveyone know that and guess what it is in the regs. Just like this cow permit!
quacksmoker are you mad you didn't get drawn for this hunt or what? I have put in the watershed the last 6 years but I don't go rant on people post who show their success or ask for information on the unit because I am happy someone got drawn. You might want to hit every thread on here that are posting locations and b**ch them out also. :bdid:

We are not talking about units. This is completely different but it appears you lack the ability to understand that.

The more people that know, the less likely you will ever get "lucky" again. Bragging about it on the internet will only limit your chances and others of ever getting drawn in the future.  You do realize that you just advertised limited, private land access permits around Turnbull WR.  Do you not think anybody who reads this will not look into these hunts in the future?
The "Units" I refered to are drawn units! Don't see much difference between what you quoted above. So I am not sure how you can say that CPWMA permit is any different that a branch antler permit. The only difference is where and whom owns the land.

Yeah you are right. I think you are the only one that seems to understand your whining. You didn't get drawn so get over it! :beatdeadhorse: Maybe you should stick with "Speak Your Mind" Topics.

And if a draw unit went from 1:10 chance of being drawn to a  1:20 chance because of a post on the Internet post, I don't think you would like it. Its the difference between waiting 10 years or 20 years to draw a tag. Ownership of land is not important, its the ability to access it, which you fail to understand. FYI, I didn't even put in for the raffle, why would I pay when already have private access.

Awhile back, I bought a few raffle tickets for one of the January cow hunts over outside of the Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge through the Columbia Plateau Wildlife Management Association.  I learned about the CPWMA from a friend of mine and purchased the tickets because the money goes to help procure access for outdoorsman on several different properties around Cheney that CPWMA manages.  I thought it was a worth while group, so I decided to give away a few dollars to help a good cause.

So this morning, I got an email from them saying I was drawn for one of the 1/1-1/15 cow permits.  :yike: I don't ever seem to be the "lucky" one, so it was kind of

shocking to me that I was actually drawn.  I will still be able to hunt Modern on the Westside, but I am excited to do a little elk hunting in January if I don't tag out on a bull in November.

Have any of you guys ever been drawn for one of these permits or hunted elk around the Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge?  I want to educate myself on this area since I have never hunted any of their properties, so any pointers or information about this area would be appreciated.
.

Weren't u raisin hell on here not 2 long ago about people gettin drawn & fishin fer info on areas they had no idea about??   Typical fer  a rich coastie ta buy a B.S cow elk raffle tag anyway!!!

Not me, you must be thinking of someone else.  I have no problem with people putting in for new areas and learning new areas. I have helped several other members out and will continue to do so in the future because one or two bad apples doesn't make everyone on here bad.

I do have a problem with someone's first post on this site being.....I got drawn and I need someone to tie up and animal for me and drag it out after I shoot it. There are a lot of good members on here that are willing to help one another out, but you got to put a little skin in the game as well.

Anyways, I guess I don't have to worry about you putting in for this tag in the future since its a "B.S. cow elk raffle tag anyway". Sorry I donated some money trying to help ensure that there is private lands to hunt in the Cheney area and I accidentally pulled a tag. Ideally, I would have pulled a cow tag closer to home, but I enjoy eating elk and I cant help that I was drawn.

By the way, if I am a rich coastie, then we must all be millionaires!

I guess that is the biggest difference between you and me. You are more worried about when you will draw a permit, whereas I am more worried about having the opportunity to draw one of these permits again.  Ownership of the land does play a critical part in this entire equation.  Without CPWMA working together with several land owners, none of these permits would be available to the general public.

You sound like you are a little sour about having more hunters in your stomping grounds, which I can appreciate but we have all dealt with it in one way or another.  You have been fortunate to have access to private property in that area, but most other hunters aren't. I understand that you put in some foot work and this is a relatively easy way to get access without knocking on any doors. Does that mean that other people are less deserving of being able to hunt this area?

I will continue to support groups that are procuring access to property and ensuring future access for all outdoorsmen.
