I didnt think this raffle was a big secret and like I said before, the CPWMA is trying to procure access to private lands for people to hunt. They actually have a free draw where anyone can put in for access to hunt the properties that they manage without ever paying a dime. Maybe I am missing something, but it seems like a good group for outdoorsman to support. Selfish? Yeah, definitely. But apparently the point is lost on a few of you. Good luck trying to access any of their properties next year. I have a feeling they will be a bit harder to get drawn. How many here would be willing to share the great opportunities in areas that they hunt? I'll be waiting for a pm.

No, it becomes limited access for a very few. That's what I don't like. More competition leads to fewer hunting opportunities for myself. So next year the chance of me getting drawn is next to nothing. I understand this is selfish of me, but if you are so altruistic and want better/more opportunities for others to have good hunts, why don't you post your honey holes here for everyone to see? It would be selfish of you not to inform everyone where they might have a better chance at success. It's like someone coming on here and saying "I found this awesome Feel Free to Hunt area it's next to a huge wildlife refuge with monster bulls and to get access all you have to do is..." Now I bet if you hunted this same place you would be "Of F somebody just let the cat out of the bag." The last thing you would be doing is championing greater access for Washington Sportsman.

I get what you're saying, but agree with the other guys. It's private land that the owners were nice enough to let people come hunt. It's their land and they get to make the decisions.
so this is a raffle hunt from page 83 in the regs? the last raffle on the list one for 13 antlerless and 1 bull right there in every set of regs on or offline for every hunter who reads it to see and how I do wonder is this a giant secret raffle??I dont even know where this is let alone care, its not a raffle I would ever buy a ticket for and I am betting not near as many as you think will suddenly buy them after all anyone who reads the raffle page has seen it good luck on your hunts, cool that you won something

If anyone wants to know where I hunt though I would be happy to share. I know there are critters there cause I have seen the poop and tracks.Let me put it another way though, that organization is a non-profit that is providing value to the landowners in exchange for access to land. Are you really so selfish that instead of having a free chance of getting drawn for access you would rather they fold up due to lack of funding/support and have nobody get access at all? Or worse have those landowners start leasing the land exclusively to outfitters instead so you can pay for the privilege of hunting there?

If so, then it is usually done on pm and not posted openly. I have no problem with what these landowners are choosing to do, but one must understand the repercussions of creating the expectation that one must "pay to play" when hunting private property. Once again, if you think posting specific places or opportunities on the Internet is a good thing, post the coordinates of your hunting spots or landowners that allow hunters to access their private property. I won't hold my breath.

I won't hold my breath.UMMMMMMM.. just because it is not done PUBLICLY, there is a whole helluva lot of help going on behind the scenes.. I know information I gave out privately, helped 3 guys get elk, and another guy did not get his... but he was in the elk. OH, and these were ALL draw public land permits..So take the holier than thou attitude down the road.. this site does more to help other hunters than any other I have ever seen... Oh, and if you want my honey hole.. it is C-Post. Hell, maybe I will lower your odds next year, just put in for one of those tags.. why not, I like to eat elk.
My reading comprehension is just fine.. been at a college level since I was 12 years old...I am just pointing out, there is a whole hell of a lot of help that happens on this site. HOWEVER, bitching about someone posting on a public forum about a public raffle tag, that is in the PUBLIC hunting regs, for the entire HUNTING PUBLIC to READ.. is pretty pathetic.just my and I do not post all my help in public because I like that I can help behind the scenes, and then read the success stories after the fact, and read how they followed my advice and were successful. That said, they still had to get drawn, before they got the info, and actually put the shoe leather on the ground, to earn the animal.
