« on: August 30, 2008, 07:24:21 AM »
So what is everyones advice on getting a choate shooting stock on a magnum rifle?

High power Mag caliber plus choate equals alot of pain? possably? i like the style but not sure i would like to take repeated shots from one out of a big shot.

or this one

What are all your thoughts from those who have one and have had one?

I had a choate, but not on a magnum.
Overall it was a decent stock--no nearly as flexy as many of the synthetics on the market today....could still see casting lines, though.

I didn't find it all that comfortable for shooting offhand--I ultimately sold it.
It did looks pretty "tacti-cool" though.
I left it better than I found it...did you?

I'm sure they come in different weights and with different recoil pads so as far as the ouch factor you could definitely make it reasonable.

It sounds like it's time to get a new gun.
