Ghost Camp Vs. Ghost Busters Camp
«

Okay guys whats the story?
I saw a couple camps this year with signs out front, one read "Ghost Camp" and a little further up the road was a sign that read "Ghost Busters". Just curious if this is some kind of hunting camp feud.

I think Ghost camp is ghosthunter's camp. Here's a thread of his about it.

I'm pretty sure that was the sign out in front of the camp, the other camp had the Ghost Busters sign.

Yep
I am the principal at Ghost Camp.
I will give you the story from my side. I have discussed it with the primary at ghost busters camp. And he and I are friendly.
This is it.
First you should know that all the camps at ghostbusters are not all together. It's two or three groups there. Some friendly some not. Looks like one camp.
Any how at ghostbusters the two trailers in the back are brothers who have been camping and hunting there for many, many years. Good guys one is a Hunter Ed instructor as is half the guys in my camp and myself.
Several years ago one of our guys brought a Ranger Atv to camp. We had some disabled guys three in fact.
The guy with the Atv was running it on the back road along Coal Creek and transporting handicap hunter out to the end of road.
Ghostbusters access the same road on foot from their end. Someone down there turned our guy into the Forest Service and a officer came to our camp and contacted the ATV owner.
Our guy pulled out a map that showed the road open to ATVs and the officer at first glance agreed the road was marked open.
But as they both discussed it they discovered a small notation at the bottom of the map. Staying Closed Oct. 1-31. A honest mistake on our guys part. He and officer shook on it and are guy agreed not to operate his Atv on the road again.
I might add that the unknown person at ghostbusters did the reporting as he left town for home.
The end of season comes and we are the only camp left. One of our guys checked out the ghostbusters camp for discarded hides as he tans them. He came back to camp with hides but said they left their camp site a mess.
I new one of the guys was a Hunter Ed instructor who camped there. And that the West Side Coordinator had hunted with them one year.
I went down and checked the camp and there was garbage throw down the slope along with deer heads missing the anthers laying in plain view of anyone who walked in the sight.
When I got home I emailed the Hunter Ed folks in Olympia and complained that a Hunter Ed instructor should leave a cleaner camp and set a better example.
Several emails latter the ghostbusters instructor denied any knowledge of the garbage, which I took photos of . He said he left first and it must of been one of the other groups camped there.
I have no reason not to believe his explanation.
The next year we showed up they had a ghostbusters sign by the road.
We just laughed.
I later talked to the ghostbusters instructor an introduced myself as the guy who complained about the mess in his camp.
He and I sorted it out and he visits our camp regularly . I have no ill will towards them. And I have let it be know that everyone in my camp should be friendly and respectful to them. I come over hunt and relax not have the Hayfields and McCoys.
We like their camp name and have talked about buying them hats if we come across some.
That's my story and I am sticking to it.

However being a guy that likes to stir the pot. I did salt their campsite with biodegradable Ghost Camp chits. ( a small peice of wood shingle with our logo branded on it)
The devil made me do it.

I have a co-worker who camps down the road from your camp actually. I will be down that direction this year as well. If we're in the area I'll try to stop in and say hi.
