This big boy was taken in 1982 on the Ft Lewis Reservation It is a 5 point w/eye guards. Taken with my 12 ga
using slugs at 50 yds. I don't hunt any longer because of my advanced age (81), but if I did, Ft Lewis would be my primary area.

I knew he was in the area, but I know nothing about rattling. I had chased him around a lot, It was shotgun season on the Fort, so it took some time to pin him down.

So as not to confuse these blacktails as Mule deer, here is a better picture of them from the front. One on the left weighed 196 hanging. One on the right 186 hanging.

Those are great blacktails muskrat. I love dark antlers on that fort Lewis buck.

They don't get much better than that buck on the islands highhunter :tup:
