My wife shot a 4-point raghorn. It was her first branched antler bull, so she was pretty excited.
The best friend a guy could have asked for. RIP chasing pheasants in heaven Denali girl.

No luck for me, saw a few 4pts and one monster in the back of someone's truck. I was honestly pretty shocked at the number of people flooding into St Helens tree farm and the surrounding areas. This is my first year hunting in Washington and felt like no matter how far I hiked there was still somebody in sight. I must have hiked 10 miles today! And the road hunters... :bash:

not to be negative but good luck finding locked gates on the weekend. there are a few gates locked up during the week. you would have to call the hotline as the areas open to hunt will change during the week as the active logging areas gates will usually be closed. i hunted a different area of the tree farm yesterday. the road hunters were as bad as always. did not see any elk saw one doe. thats rifle hunting thats the way it is. im takeing today off will be out there tommorow and most of the rest of the week. i hunt a different unit in the tree farm. dont hunt the winston usually as its usually alot more crowded!

Almost makes me glad I didn't have the money to go out elk hunting this season. Only thing you're gonna see in the Winston is a lot of trucks and lots of orange, and empty Busch Light cans on the side of every road!  :chuckle:
That wasn't me! It was a black Camaro! It went that way!

Makes me appreciate archery season that much more, other then opening weekend of both the early and late season, I rarely see other hunters.

We went down for the opener. Seen 8 cows down low. One of the cows had a real bad hurt back leg. Looked to be very painful. Up higher only one grouse to be seen:/

4 of us tagged two rag horns 50% success rate both were 3x3's now out to get the other tags filled.
Some animals WERE harmed in the making of this Hunter. They were also dragged through the dirt, butchered and tasted delicious fried with butter and bacon.
