They fixed another Spokane Smiths mistake on an Ackley Improved '06 for me, that was 20+ years ago.  I'd  highly recommend them.  Check out Mountain Shadow aswell on Newport hwy just south of Franks Diner.

I personally wouldn't use Mountain Shadow again.  A friend and I have both used him and while he did good work he was very slow.  Took over a week for my buddy to get his gun back and he just needed a hole re tapped for a scope mount.  Told him it would be a couple days.  I had a trigger installed by them and was told it would be a couple days.  Turned into over two weeks.  With that said, I have not used Brocks but have talked to them a couple times about various things.

good Christ, NO!  call up Roger Biesen or Rick Bemel and put your rifle in the hands of a competent smith.  I visited Mountain Shadow ONE TIME and that was enough for me.  And Brocks?  One time was all it took for me.  ruined a beautiful 1912 Chilean Steyr Mauser of mine.  Twisted the action, and to "repair" it, stuck a crescent wrench handle through the feel rails and "straightened" it.

I wouldn't take a rowboat to Brocks, let alone a firearm.  Rick Bemil is good.

I have used Brocks in the past when I didn't know any better.  they did what they were asked to do, but where very unknowledgeable about the specific weapon.  All learned after the fact. 

the times i have gone back, the older gentelman has been a jerk and basically treated me as if I was an interruption to his life rather than a customer.

would love to get Rick (Bernal, Bernil, Bernel)'s phone #.  He he, there where three spellings in the post.  Tried looking in up in the phone book for spokane that i have without success.  Have two guns that need some work.  A 17 hmr, and a 22.

Cant believe how some people treat their customers.  And all I wanted was a trigger weight changed.  I went ahead and had them do it because I needed it done - but I'll never go back.

I tried Rick Bemel and he was nice but unfortunatly only does custom smithing now, no small jobs. I will try to look up Roger Biesen.  Tried Mtn Shadow arms, the guy fixed the little pink 22 for my granddaughter and did a good job but was slow, and surly

yes, Eric @ mt shadow has mixed reviews for sure.  He has come across as surly to me as well, but I know a few others that have gotten to know him and speak better of him.  I won't be going back in there either

end result is i tried both roger and rick and they didn't do most smithing anymore.  Took my 17 to brocks, they looked at it, disappeared in the back about five minutes and brought it back to me fixed.  NO charge.  Almost fell over.  I will take more to them for sure

I've NEVER met a "friendly" or courteous gunsmith in my life! All of them acted like I was a scumbag for stopping by.                  I know they are busy, but damn, man!

i have been to mountain shadow numerous times and he has almost always treated me well, teh one time he was kind of grumpy i think. he installed the brake in my 300 RUM (dropped off friday afternoon and got a call saturday at noon sayibg its done) and he also did the wyatts box install and bedded, that took 2 weeks but was expected. i will continue to use him in the future.
