I guess 31" because he looks big.  Like you said Bone, the light beams make a different look.  If I didn't shoot him, he'd be 34"

Most ears that I've measured have been right at 23" outside.  Granted, I've only measured deer in my neck of the woods.  I'd put him at 29.

I'm sorry but I'd say he measures 20 inches......from my plate to my mouth!  I don't worry about score until I've tasted them and then I score on how good they taste on a 1 to 10 scale.

If you're talking greatest inside spread you aren't too far off.  Greatest outside is probably pushing 30".

So how do most of you get your widths?  I base mine on the greatest inside spread, which is the scorable number.
