****Question*****
« on: November 12, 2012, 08:56:29 PM »
My Brittany has a very white coat and recently has had a tint of pink starting to show on his head and neck.

Any suggestions or comment as to what would cause it????

unless its the starts of a hot spot my best guess would be too much iron in her drinking water.

My friend has a white dog, and it got a hot spot. It was pretty small, pinkish, reddish, and about the size of 2 half dollars  :dunno:

Should be in everyone's canine care kit, IMO.

I am feeding him Core which is a high protein grain free food.  He has occassional breakouts of puss bubbles which look like an oversized whitehead on his belly every once in awhile.  I took him to the vet the first time this happened and they explained it was most likely an allergy to the tall grass I was running him in.

I am wondering if all the spots are a sign of him having seasonal allergies???  His energy level is high, he takes healthy dumps and isn't puking.

Any suggestions.................?

All my dogs have gotten those after running in grass when they're young when their skin is very soft. Once they get full hair on their bellies and the skin gets tough i've never really noticed it again. Putting iodine on small little sores/bumps always helps dry them up fast. Iodine somewhat cauterizes little bumps and scratches. Helps them heal up faster than ointments and sprays in my opinion. Pick it up cheap just about anywhere too-

Could be a food allergy.  That was the cause for my dog.  Quality of food has never been the issue so much as type of protein.
