New Rifle - Input please
« on: November 14, 2012, 03:18:46 PM »
I'm going to buy a new rifle/scope combo.  Thinking .300 Win mag.  Does anyone know a custom rifle builder here in Washington?  I'd like to be able to drive to them and shoot whatever I end up having built.  I know about Gunwerks, Cooper firearms etc, but not feasible to drive there.

Any input is appreciated.

Call Benchmark barrels, they have built my last two customs and my brothers. Great barrels, excellent service and quick turn around time compared to most others. They are located in Arlington, they have been around forever but are just getting their web site going.

Quarter Minute Magnums is located in Lewiston, ID.  Not a short drive but doable.  My buddy just had them build a .300 win mag for him.  It turned out awesome.

Rbros rifles is the premier rifle builder in the Pacific north west.  I have several of their rifles and have shot several more of their builds.
They do a tremendous amount for the shooting community as well.

He is also a site sponsor and his banner/link is at the top of this page.

You know it! :) Their .338 barrels are incredible, once mine settled in. 70 rounds or so, it is SPOOKY accurate. I'm going to have them chamber up my 6.5-.338 Ultra Mag Improved next.

You need to hurry up with that before I build a 6.5/375 Ruger! I just want to see what sort of velocities you get so that I know what I need to do to beat them. :chuckle: But I'll do it from a pistol! :IBCOOL:

RBros does excellent work and is great to deal with.  It may be a little further but Shawn Carlock W/Defensive Edge builds and excellent rifle as well and has the fastest turn around time of anyone I have ever used.  Last build was less than 3 1/2 months.  They are located just across the Wa. border in Rathdrum Id.

Either choice would build you and excellent rifle!!!
