Limit. Of teal.

Took the pup out Saturday again and had a fun time.  Shot a limit of teal, cannot for the life of me get the mallards to decoy.  I'm having no problem with teal, or pintails, but the mallards want nothing to do with me.  Concealment could be an issue, seem the teal clearly don't give a crap that I'm there.  Any thoughts?

I've had more luck this year with mallards than teal. Teal never seem to want to land. Mallards have come in either being lonely hens or a giant flock but the flocks seem to do a just barely too high low pass before deciding whether or not to commit. They are frustrating.

Teal are may favorite duck to shoot/eat. Nice job! Perfect size for your pup too

Move further back in the corn and make sure your concealed.  They can see you very well while flying over it.  Or change your strategy and hunt the last two hours as they start heading into it.  Hunting it on the nasty days, they will pile in sooner than 30 minutes after closing.
FA blind or something of the sort may help hide your profile.  If they get pounded in that spot frequently they will be more weary, so push the decoys out further away from the corn 40-50 yards and catch the birds as they swing to land into them given you set up on the down wind side if possible.  You can trick them, but watch how they work and shift things up.  Don't do what everyone else does and that may be the ticket.   

Also possibly leave the bucket upside down and blast it with some more paint to hide the blue.  Blue is the one color they can see the best supposedly.  May look like a beacon from above.

I'll get some paint out tonight and darken that bucket up.  Thanks H20.  I'll try out the tactics tomorrow AM and see if that helps -  thanks for the advice. Much appreciated.
