I saw one once, a guy had built.
Basically he had an extra long 1 pc. Weaver base milled. Was designed to stick out over the barrel. He then used Weaver Tip Off rings. He loved it. He also was using a high end shotgun scope, as he liked the diamond turkey reticle.. I asked about the recoil affecting the scope, and he just shrugged and said if the scope wont take it, he will send it back and get it fixed...

BENCHLEG,
Here is the one I just completed.....I striped the stock and added Marine Tex for texture, Sprayed the stock with Duracoat Matte Black and finished it with Matte Clear.....The barrel and reciever were done in Duracoat Grey Wolf and the hammer, trigger, screws, pins, barrel rings, ect...were re-blued. I added a grind to fit kick eez recoil pad I had laying around, a Grovtek sling and an Allen shell holder....Drilled tapped and mounted the XS-Sights Lever Rail and completed the Gun with a Burris Scout Scope and Warne Rings.....Currently working on loads with Hodgen Leverloution powder......fun little gun, so far shoots really good too!!!
Here is a close up of the XS-Sights rail.

Looks to me like something the military would use. It's about to be banned.

Now figure out a way to put rails on the side and bottom, get a flash light and red dot and what ever else, and you got yourself an assault rifle
