There was some discussion by GMAC members wanting to modify the current point system so that a proportion of tags (~40%) were set aside for people with max points.  Much discussion took place on this topic and my perception was that it is unlikely recommendations for a changed point system will be made by the GMAC.

If folks have any thoughts on the above topics or other issues they would like addressed at these meetings let me know.
Terrible idea! :twocents:
:yeah:

Damn 40% er's.  I think WDFW should allocate some of those built up points to those that have none or just a few.  Redistribution of points...it's only fair. :chuckle:

Redistribution would be WDFW taking points from max holders and distributing them randomly to license holders that don't even purchase a permit app. Kind of like these incentive tag winners that have never hunted for the species they win or drawing one after only submitting one hunter report in their life, interesting how this seems to happen every year.

Or distributing points across the board in every category when they started the current draw system.  Not exactly re-distribution, but it was giving points in categories that applicants didn't deserve points......

Hey Guys....I was trying to be politically funny.  Hope no one took it seriously. :chuckle:

I like the idea of offering "first time hunters" a doe hunt or something to entice them.  I think that would be great to get soem success early.

okay so on the subject of baiting deer and elk.  id hate to see this banned.  a hunter who is baiting deer might have an easier time getting his tag filled, but thats just one buck.  think about the benefit to the rest of the bucks and does eating the bait.  a nice food supply with winter coming on benefits the herd.
