Late Archery Season Blacktails
« on: September 20, 2010, 07:42:58 PM »
I have always gotten my deer in the early season but due to work and such this year I am going to have to wait until the late season to hunt.  I was wondering, in your guys experience how do blacktails react to cold weather and snow and just it being later in the season in general.  I know my hunting area well so if you guys say that they like to hole up in deep cover or what ever I should be able to find them I just want some general advice on how blacktails behave/act in the late season.

i feel your pain I'm in the same boat. now I'm no blacktail expert but from what I've seen,  they are less active the colder it get's and since their food is all around them they aren't moving very far to get to it. check those deep thick draws, and let me know if you have any luck and what worked.
When you stick'em right, there is no blood trail, only a  puddle.
