Late Blacktail
« on: December 09, 2012, 11:12:26 AM »
This 20'' wide heavy two point had a smaller 4pt pinned to the ground driving it back like a bulldozer. It was beating the crap out of it. When my buck let up off off him the 4pts head looked like it was drug through the mud and its head had blood spots on it. Ive never seen anything like that happen before

That 4pt was a baby compared to the 2pt.... I'm gonna take a tooth out and age the buck, my bet is he was on the down slide

Nice buck! I am thinking he is not on the down slide, but who knows  :dunno:. Does not have the old buck look in the face and his bases are not all gnarly and stuff.

I am probably wrong though, I usually set myself up to fail with my opinions   :chuckle:.

 Dandy buck, good and wide!

:yeah: Dominant fighter for sure but usually when bucks regress their rack gets tighter not wider. He's probabely around 3 1/2 years old and was and will always be a 2 point

My guess he is not a regress buck. He is a nice buck but doesn't have the classic roman nose of a older blacktail

That has to be one of the coolest two point rack I have seen.  Nice buck, what did his teeth look like over all?  Let us know what you hear after you send the tooth in!

nice though

Your buck will for sure make it in the Washington record book. Heres a pic of my buck that I got in 2010 and it made it, number 37 as of last year at the sportsmans show in Puyallup. Sorry about the measuring device, didnt want to go to the shed for a tape. Thats a man can (16oz). Its a "Western Blacktail" and scored 89 3/8" and taken with a modern rifle.
