Mcleary Elk Herd
« on: December 16, 2012, 11:26:06 PM »
So I used to live there many years ago and remember seeing lots of elk off Mox-Chehalis rd and have heard lots of rumor from different people that all the elk got trapped and released in yakima for the tribes. I dont know if any of this is true or if they got released somewheres else or if they are still there! Does anybody got any info on this?

Thanks!

They did trap some of them and transferred them to Mt. Rainer area. Thats what I heard at least.

I drove past the herd this morning. About 25 elk in total. Didn't see any large bulls.

is this the same herd that can be seen by the disc golf near Elma,  seems that end up in those fields every year as soon as archery opens.  I just figured they got chased across the hwy
