Closer but smaller, the Nooksak herd is only 850+-.

Up to 1200 elk come to the Oak Creek feeding station.

The biggest bulls are at Joe Watt.  Top pics.   There are a crap load at the upper oak creek (main office).  Nothing real big.  Some nice critters but no mashers.   There are not very many at the bottom oak creek (intersection).   Clover springs has a few critters but they have been recieving some hunting pressure from the tribes or poachers.   Three kills there this last week.  Took photos of  one to post, but I lost all of my photos for that day. :sry:  but not as  :sry: as I was becasue I had a couple really good shots for the day, including some rams butting and a couple really nice bulls bedded in the brush like bookends with snow covering their bodies and antlers.  There looks to be quite a few in the Wenas but I haven't scoped them for quality.    Interesting enough there is a herd of cows feeding at the sheep feeding station.   Not sure what the WDFW will do about that.

I took the kids out for a drive to check out the critters and got a bunch of nice pics, here's some bulls from oak creek in the 1st 2.  Next pic is the cows at the sheep feeding station.  last pic is a herd of elk from a couple of years ago at the sheep feeding station.  I don't think wdfw will do anything other than feed them.  I seen the small herd there a couple of years ago from dec. to feb. and they finally moved on. :dunno:  We also drove up to the Wenas feeding area but couldn't really see much and got some pics from a distance but, pics didn't turn out very well.  If I had a setup like Bone and the other pro's on here they might've turned out better and you could actually see and identify the hardware that was being packed. :chuckle:
