Gun Safes
« on: December 27, 2012, 02:32:00 PM »
So I'm in the market for a gun safe. I want to know what to look for and what to stay away from. I will store up to 10 long guns/ammo plus other house items.

Buy bigger than you think you need. For 10 guns I'd get a 20 gun safe or even bigger. You'll fill it quick.

Ive been looking myself. NW safe in enumclaw is a great source of info. I actually need to call them tonight to ask some more questions. Im between a liberty franklin, a Summit Rainier, and a have questions about Champion Trophy and Superior Encore or Master.

My requirements are 4 way locking bolts, 1 hour of fire protection, and a fully welded body, not just tack welds.

Of course it all depends on how much you want to spend. Always keep in mind that youll want to buy about twice the size you think you need.  :twocents:

Just a thought, i was told that if i ever got a safe to make sure it was radial combo and not a push button.  If a person wanted to break in, they could powder the numbers to see what digits you push all the time and figure out the combo.  Or just make sure you change the combo on regular basis.  Made sense to me :dunno:
