These folks who support the norm of things we see today are verbally aggressive, swift, smart, and intellectual. They have no love for Constitutional America. Post Constitutional America is an appropriate term for them.

This was talked of with fever with Bush yet he did nothing Unconstitutional. Obama poops on the Constitution like an Occupy Wall Street Protester defiles a Police Car and CNN cheers. When I say Impeach Obama if he signs an Executive Order to Ban or Seize Firearms I mean it.

What's incredibly sad to me is how fired up all of you get when anything having to do with guns is mentioned, and yet the vast majority of you are completely uninformed about the other 99.9% of what goes on in Olympia, or D.C.

A well educated, interested, and involved population would have never allowed politics and politicians to get where we are today.  Sadly, we've already neutered ourselves of our power to do anything of substance because our ears only perk up when someone mentions guns.

Not a gripe at anyone in particular, just lamenting about the current state of affairs we are in. 

Don't just blame the politicians though; WE THE PEOPLE, through our lack of interest, let this happen.

I agree the general population is like that (how else would Obama get back in), but I think lumping the guys posting on this thread into that group is WAY off base. Look back at the political forum and you will start seeing the same names

The politicians aren't even aware of all that is going on in DC.  That is their full time job and they too are overwhelmed.  The health care reform bill was 1,800 pages in legal-speak, tax bills are similar, etc.  Most of them couldn't even read the bills they voted on.

For the most part you are preaching to the choir on this forum, there are only a small percentage that on here that are liberal in their thinking.

I seem to remember something Obama said when he was first Elected in 2008 about Social renginering and such. Begining to think this was what he meant. And yes to me my guess on Exective order would be to bring the National Guard out to disarm us.

Yes this all could be politcal posturing but think this is looking bad. He may have said thing like just becuase it's hard doesn't mean we don't ned to try. To me that means far more than what he actually said.

I heard someone say recently, "Obama doesn't scare me, it's the people that voted for him that scare me." There is strong truth in this statement. Unfortunately, 50 years of liberal influence on public education have produced a voting populace that is ignorant of the nature of our Republic, the Constitution, and the meaning of "a Nation of Laws." They certainly don't understand the importance of the 2nd Amendment.

In addition an entire generation of younger voters, that didn't witness the horrors of Communism and Marxism simply don't understand what's at stake. Since Roosevelt we have been building a large entitlement culture, a dependent class that can't or won't take care of themselves. They are slaves to Federal government entitlement spigot. They will do whatever the liberal leadership wants them to do in order to preserve their welfare and entitlement culture. Americans have always believed that there are some who, through no fault of their own, can't care for themselves. The rest of us are committed to pull the wagon with those unfortunate few sitting inside. However, we now have a situation where there are more people in the wagon than those pulling the wagon. This cannot last forever. This will result in the demise of America as we know it. It will also result in a Socialist revolution. However, the left can't win this revolution if the citizens own firearms. Therefore it is imperative that the firearms be confiscated first in order to bring about collectivism and collectivist tyranny.

Mark my words, this is what is happening. It is not going to happen "some day," it is happening now.

You have made an observation that one would expect when viewing the discussions in a hunting forum.  The focus of the forum primarily deals with topics that affect hunting, Second Amendment rights, our ability to access public lands, etc.  Rest assured that many of us also get involved in many other political forays that affect our rights, freedoms, and quality of life.  So don’t let yourself make the incorrect assumption that the people participating in these discussions can only focus on attacks on our Second Amendment and hunting rights; most are very much aware of other issues in this state, country, and around the world.

Much of western Washington is in a continual unhealthy state of political imbalance.  I’ll label the folks that have created this condition as the extreme liberal left; they may call themselves Democrats, but their philosophies are more in line with Socialism (Note: I am referring to the extreme liberal left, not those that are reasonable people).  Socialism, by the way, is not freedom.  Many of these people live in urban areas and have no clue of how the people in rural areas live and make their living.  However, they don’t hesitate to dictate their views as if it were Gospel and impose their restrictive regulations on rural residents without any regard to private property rights, or negative economic impact on small communities or individual rural residents.  Take a look at what is happening in Thurston County with their protection of the Pocket Gopher and the devastating effects that has had on private property rights; look at their new definition of wetlands (1,000 sq. feet) that comes with many restrictions and buffers.  The imbalance of political power is a problem that needs to be addressed in this state and the rest of the nation.  We, the People are very much aware of the issues and challenges that face us on many fronts.  The difficult part is to get the people to believe in themselves and to get off their rear ends and take a stand for what is right.
