Bobcat pelt sealing question
« on: January 09, 2013, 06:30:04 PM »
Sorry, surely there is something on this somewhere in here. I asked a local Game Warden while he was checking me during deer season and this is what I gathered for time and place:

I think he told me the hatchery in Puyallup on 14th, the second Saturday of each month.

Does this sound right to anyone in the know? Is it the trout hatchery at 1416 14th St SW, Puyallup?

Is it, for sure, this Saturday, the second Saturday in January?

Any help would be good. It seems like there would be some official info somewhere, and maybe there is, on WDFW's website on this.

Thanks for any and all help

I was thinking they needed to be sealed by Jan. 10th but I could be wrong. I also thought you had to go into one of the offices, but I could be wrong.  It is in the game laws under small game.

Call the regional office in your area.  Set up an appointment if needed.  Do not rely on word of mouth.  It is very simple.

The 72 hr requirement is for cougar.

Thanks, read that though. It does not say where or when they set up for sealing. I had hoped maybe somebody knew off the top of their heads. I will call someone:)

I need to get mine sealed. I froze mine but before hand I cut a slit between the upper lip and eye and inserted a rope so when I pull it out they have somewhere to insert the seal. I mentioned to a gamie what I did and he didn't say anything about it.

I got it two days after she got her deer. Very close to where she got her deer.

Each WDFW Enforcement detachment does it differently. The Pierce County WDFW Officers have one designated day per month where people show up and get pelts sealed.

Yes it is the Hatchery that you listed, not too far from the fairgrounds.

It use to be the last saturday of the month so they may have changed it. ALSO, this is not an all day thing. The WDFW Officer shows up at around 10AM and hangs out for a while. If nobody shows up then he leaves.

So what YOU need to do is call the Montesano Office and ask them 1) the day (last saturday or second to last) 2) the time the officer will be there
