Nice Bear, congrats to him!  How big was the bear?  Can't see to much of size though the sleeper hold he has on the bear, LOL.

Great bear, looks like a good sized head on her for a sow.  Congrats to your buddy!
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.

Conflatulations!  I completely forgot that it opened up on the first!!  I guess that I have been too busy.  My girls saw you pic and want me to take them out looking for bear today.  Maybe this evening up at Mt. Adams.

I was lazy this morning and didn't get out until 10am and only stayed till 3pm. I was happy to see no one has been in my honey hole  ;)

Spent 5 days over in the Winthrop, Mazama area and only saw 1 bear. Usually we see more than that. the berries didn't seem to be ripe yet. saw lots of deer with some nice bucks, one went about 24-26 wide and nice and tall, he was bedded 50 yrds off the road and just stood there looking at us hope he stays around till rifle season. The boy shouldn't have any problem filling the doe tag.

I was in a different spot on the west side but was thinking the same thing. I was not sure if it was just the elevation, too early in season or lack of water...

We also saw a curious doe.

There was lots of bear activity torn up stumps rolled stumps, rocks but the berries weren't there. Saw some choke cherries that were not ripe and a few of the usual spots that the blue berries were still not in. May head back over later this month, but I need to start the scouting this week end for peaches ridge elk. may take a week end and head down to the coast to one of our other bear spots to try and get the boy a bear.

I went out on the 2nd and 3rd, and no berries is right. I saw huckleberry brush with flowers on them still. I could count on one hand how many ripe berries I saw. Needless to say we didn't see any bear either. I'm hoping another week or two should bring the berrys on.
