Starling and Robin Invasion
« on: January 15, 2013, 10:44:46 AM »
The apple orchard behind my new house has been swarmed with starlings and robins.  The starlings are good target practice with my russian pellet pistol.  The robins make for some good bird photography.

Here are at least 1000 starlings in flight taken from my back porch with a shaded hill behind them and the sunlight coming from behind thier wings making thier wings look white.

Here is one taken at 20 yards with the pistol.

Here is one of those robins (new years day)

I love starlings. They make great target practice for my Benjamin air rifle.
Be more concerned with your character than your reputation. Your character is who you actually are while your reputation is merely who others think you are.

Thanks!

Quardrafire,

The pistol is an IZH-46m.  More of a hunting challenge than my Benjamin marauder (which is crazy effective).

I wonder how many would drop with a load of 7 or 8 shot through the middle of that flock?  Preserve the skins and sell them to Wholesale Sports, I saw a fly tier buy a starling "pelt" the other day.

How do they taste on the rotisserie?
The only man who never makes a mistake, is the man who never does anything!!
The further one goes into the wilderness, the greater the attraction of its lonely freedom.
