Remington 750 WoodsMaster .30/06

Anyone have one of these auto's?  Opinions? I'm thinking about getting one for brush/truck gun.  I sure like the new looks over the previous models.

I don't have one, but have always liked them.  Saw a used one for $400 the other day, but in 243.  Thought about picking it up.  I hear the accuracy is not the greatest, but I am not looking for minute of angle, just minute of animal.

I have one and by buddy just bought one cause I was stretching the hole on the target, (shot inside the previous shot making the hole bigger) I let my brother use it one time and it bit him really good a couple times, once time at the range he had his hand over the gas vent and it burned him pretty good and the other time cause his hand was in the way of the slide and when he fired it it took off some hide, I cannot convince him to use it anymore !!  :chuckle:  :chuckle:

Be careful of those issues and it should be a great gun for you !! After shooting at the range with my buddy we found they like the 150gr bullets rather then 180gr, we just use the factory Remington Walmart special $10/box type ammo and it works well, His has a slight catch when you first cycle in a round he has to push the breech closed but mine has no problems like that !!!

Good gun for what I use it for !!

I bought a Tikka after I started having problems with the WoodsMaster. I had some jamming problems which were from the magazine. My biggest problem was that it shot very poor groups. I dont know if thats how it was supposed to shoot or what but I couldnt get under a paper plate sized group at 100 yards. I just got so tired of it that I bought a Tikka. Thats just me, who knows.

I never liked that you basically have to hold cold metal all day.  I hate gloves and I hate deer missers (slings).
