Not gonna trap this year
« on: January 19, 2013, 10:24:03 PM »
Its actually not a bad news thread, its a good news thread, Ive been living in this trailer court for 23 years, as I said in another thread, I had no place to put up furs or store anything more than a few items....Well, Ive been stashin cash for 3 years to build up a down payment for a place, couple of weeks ago I caught the notice of the lewis county tax deed sale, there is a piece 2 miles from here, out of town, and  out of the winlock sewer water bullsheet, 2 wells, a septic, doublewide mobile home, 1200 square foot shop and 2 acres of land with a lil creek runnin through it.

I went to the courthouse with exactly $10,0000 in my pocket (yea I was nervous carrying it around for 2 days in my pocket)$10,000 was my limit and its all I had,  Understand, at these sales, You cant say hold on I'll get some more money if You are the winning bidder(and this did happen) at any rate, the bidding got crazy until it was down to me and the "investment bidder" we went down to my final bid of $9600, I never thought he was gonna stop! I'm on cloud nine, the mobile home I assumed was gonna be destroyed(because tweakers had been squatting), turns out it is in excellant shape, sure the did take the fuse box and the heat pump(never knew that was originally there so no sour grapes) I have some cleanup for sure, but I gotta tell Ya, I'm happier than a pig in slop, and no there are no lienholder or mortgagees, in this state it is a tax deed state, though You have to watch out for IRS and State of Washington liens.

Short story long, I can finally garden again, have a shop, maybe raise chickens for eggs, raise a hog or two, and have a lil fur shed in my shop, I havent been this happy since my pops bought me my 1st .22 when I was 14 (OK, maybe I was happier a lil bit when I got my cherry popped) at any rate, no trapping this year, no time, work and fixing up and moving into my ponderossa the next 5 months will be the plan, Christmas came late, but I forgive Santa Claus....I will re up my membership with WSTA and read these boards and look forward to next year  (Yes I'll still trap moles illegally this year, I aint never gonna stop that, its addicting)

OK enough gloating....
