Thank you so much for your complements!

I'm back to the reality of 4 kids, a broken down washing machine
and a wife requiring some attention.  BTW, we just ate the back strap, most incredible, could not even tell it was venison.  This is the second mountain buck that tasted better than any deer I've ever had. Must be something in that mountain water up there.

As far as the deer's leg, one of our shots must have put a hole in it.
I'll bet that on the hoof that buck weighed every bit of 300 lbs.

Bobm,
Had no idea you were Chucks huntin Pard!  Way to Go!  I helped Chuck on his late tag last year!  He's a top notch guy for sure!  We've talked a LOT over the last few months about gear and what not for this high hunt.  Sounds like you guys got 'er done and did it right!  Congrats!

That is a great buck. I want to know what kept you from shooting that color phase 300 pound bear that you could have killed with a bow. Man I would have greased that sucker.

The pictures on the link you posted are awesome.

I guess if knew I'd get a buck like you got I wouldnt mess with a stinky bear either.  :chuckle:

Would have been real difficult though.

Thanks for the great story and the great pic`s. You guys earned that buck! Good hunting partners are hard to come by. Thanks for explaination on the leg, figured it was steep up there and he may damaged it from falling down the hill side.
