I've only hunted Yotes for about a year now, but have taken two with my Stevens 94 .410 (slug) at 35 and about 50 yards(vitals shot)

Wish I could get them in that close.  Lately I've been carrying my AR in 20 LBC. (6.5 Grendel necked down to .204).
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

270 90 gr hollow point 3250 fps extremely good accuracy at 1/2 inch groups or higher load same bullet at .80 inch groups average at 3500 fps. Either way it destroys coyotes.
Maturity is when you have the power to destroy someone who did you wrong but instead you breathe, walk away, and let life take care of them.

Couldn't agree with you more, my father used a Remington 700 (.223) in the ranger battalion and told me it could drop any Taliban soldier within 500 yards! :chuckle:

Seen that in Big R the other day, looked interesting but the Howa name scared me off.
Maybe I'll look closer next time.

They used to make the Japanese made Weatherby's. I haven't known anyone to be dissatisfied with the Howa 1500.

I didn't know anything about the Howa's other than some entry level bargan priced youth guns I've looked at.
So I seen the Howa sticker and kept walking.

Kind of like the early Savage guns.

Far, far from a savage. Even todays savage.

I've got a Kimber M84 Varmint model with a 24" Stainless fluted match barrel and 3 lb. trigger in 22-250 topped with a VX-III in 8.5-25.

Just got the scope recently and removed the cheap crappy BSA that I had on the gun.  Night and day difference in clarity obviously.

Can not wait to shoot some prairie dogs in Montana in May.
