Got a new bow.
« on: September 21, 2008, 06:47:05 PM »
Well i finally got a bow. Been looking for a good deal and one kind of feel in my lap so i decided that maybe next year i might start elk hunting.....

I got a Bear truth II. got a bunch of extras for it, shot it the last hour or so and it is very fast.....shot my block and the arrowsare still poking out the other side of a new block target.....

anyways does anyone have one or know much aboutthem? i really wanted a diamond or bowtech and well i really like the feel of this bow......

what are your guyd opinions on what gear to set it up with.....that is if it was a bone naked bow with nothing on it.....

what would be the gear pics to load up on?

I think I would at least put some sights and a rest on it and maybe some of those string spiders or what ever they are called and maybe a scope, yeah that would be cool !!  :P

You should be very happy with it.
I shot the truth II and fell in love--just couldn't swing the cash....

...But!!! I should be picking up my new 70lb Fred Bear Lights Out tomorrow!!!

They've had some top sellers the past few years. Bear is making some great nows now.

You did fine as far as accessories. I almost picked up the same rest...but decided to go ahead and stick with my trusty whisker biscuit since it has treated me well over the past couple years. My luck, I'd knock the arrow off the rest when I finally get the chance to take aim on an animal. I'll stick with the idiot-proof stuff.  :chuckle:
I left it better than I found it...did you?
I hunt animals because veggies are too easy to stalk.

thats what i found that at about every 15 shots or so that i would have 1 arrow fall off and am not sure if i like that.

but that could just be part of getting use to something new also.

Hey Brett,
You are definitely going to love that new bow! :) It was nice meeting you and your brother at Joe's. :) I wish I could be there when you pick the bow up so that I could set it up for you; but Joe's only scheduled me for 11 1/2 hours this week. :( (Of course that gives me a whole lot more time out in the woods for hunting! :) :D )

If you happen to think about it, how about filing out a Customer Comment card for Richard at the Customer Service counter? ;) :) :D

There nice shooting bows and are on the cheaper side price wise.

I know some of the limb saver stuff does help, and a stabilizer helps too. The longer the stabilizer the more it help keep you be stable. If you put on a target stabilizer you will notice a big change but with a short hunting one you want notice as much. :twocents:

I have a trophy taker shaky hunter full away and haven't had a problem with it yet. I have even drawn back on an elk when I was leaned over on a side hill shot and didn't have a problem. If you dont like the fact that the arrow falls off then a whisker biscit is what a lot of people use so the arrow is held in place. :dunno:

Congrats on the new bow!!!! Bear makes a great reliable bow, you made a good choice. My brother loves his.

There are alot of choices when it comes to rests, and sights, the only suggestion i have is stick with all metal equipment, nothing worse then having plastic or carbon fiber equipment break on ya.

Enjoy your knew bow.
