"Secret recipe" for steaks.
« on: February 05, 2013, 12:51:21 PM »
Ingredients:  Meat tenderizer (Adolphs),  Lawrys Seasoning Salt, Garlic Powder, Peach Brandy, Soy Sauce, worchestershire sauce, Sweet Vermoth and a generic Spray bottle.  new york, ribeye, or London broil steaks.

1.  Combine spices Meat tenderizer, seasoning salt and garlic powder 1/3 each in to bowl.  (enough to completely cover meat)

2.  Either rub or coat meat with a generous coating of the spices and set for about 30 minutes.  original recipe called for only 10 minutes but I perfer longer.  Then scrap off the coating completely with a butter knife.

3.  Combine spirits and sauces: brandy, soy sauce, worchestershire sauce and sweet vermoth roughly 1/4 parts each evenly.  Poor contents in to any generic Spray type bottle.  You mix enough and refrigerate for use later.

4.  Grill steaks accordingly to size and preference.  The key is to turn steaks every 3 minutes and spray them enough to puddle the sauce.  it is busy work but trust me steaks will have a slight sweet but full flavor.  For some reason the turning and sraying makes a difference.  I have tried using the sauce just as a marinade and the flavor was just not the same.  This recipe was stolen from an popular Alaskan steakhouse.  As always start with good meat.  Costco is expensive but rarely am disappointed with the quality of the meat.

Costco now sells USDA Prime steaks.  They are a little spendy, but they are outstanding.
Look man, some times you just gotta roll the dice
