You can go to the BLM/DNR office, (there's one in Spokane), and get maps of the areas you are interested in.  They show the sections of public land.  As long as the area isn't listed as a "park" or "monument" or "refuge", you are pretty much good to go....
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

You can hunt on all BLM land.
You can shoot (target practice) on all BLM land EXCEPT the Fishtrap Lake area: http://www.blm.gov/or/districts/spokane/files/Combined_NR_Order_Map.pdf This closure does not affect hunting.

BLM owns about 430,000 acres in WA, almost all on the eastside.

Well it depends on what you mean by shoot. You can legally hunt in most wildlife refuges in WA, but target practice is illegal. Lake Roosevelt NRA is owned by the National Park Service, you can legally hunt there but not target practice.

You can hunt on a National Wildlife refuge, but there are limits on what vehicles are allowed and where you can access a refuge. No permanent structures are allowed. And they are strict about packing out your garbage.  I've done a lot of hunting on the Kodiak National Wildlife refuge. It encompasses most of Kodiak Is.

Not all National Wildlife Refuges are open to hunting. There are a few in WA that are closed to hunting and even human access.

I suppose there are some Refuge lands open to hunting, but with all the other public acess areas, I don't figure I'll live long enough to hunt them ALL!  :chuckle:

So all BLM land can be hunted but you cant target shoot on all of them how would you find out the rules of each location. I went and bought maps from the Spokane BLM office and they said all the info was included on the maps index's not true none show hunting or target shooting locations. I also went to fish trap today and target shot and only half of fish trap is closed to shooting other half is still open.

All BLM is huntable. The only BLM land in WA you can't target shoot is Fishtrap, all other BLM land you can shoot.
