Couldn't you tilt up a trolling motor and take off the 90 degree gear drive at the bottom?  (I'm just assuming you mean something like those shallow-water swamp motors.)  Might take a little ingenuity, but that's the fun part-for me anyway!

Ya I could work something out but in my sneak boat I'm trying to go lighter so I don't want to have to bring a battery...I've found some stuff on your tube. Might just have to make my own design

That's cool!  Post pics if you get something built.  If you decide to go with a battery, I'd look into those Optima-type sealed batteries, so you don't have the lead-acid fumes in the boat.

Go to bowfishingcountry.com there are some plans on there but most people will tell you it's a waist of time and money. I never built one just read about them

While not a true mud motor it will run very shallow as the shaft is adjustable like a e-trolling motor.  The e-trolling motor didn't have enough power and with the batt. very heavy and the 3 hp outbooard was too powerful and heavy, at 17lbs this is perfect.

After the first shot the rest are just noise.

It pushes it at a pretty good clip almost as fast as  the 3hp outboard, the rat doesnt have a planing hull and the more power you put to it it just settles deeper in the water and doesnt gain much speed.  This motor is 49cc's

Looks like a planing hull to me--maybe if you didn't eat so many jelly donuts....  :chuckle:  :chuckle:

HDD, you need to worry more about your shooting than my donut consumption the egg shoot isn't that far away.
