I'm new to the site,Great site. One question. Why is archery deer closed in the passeyten wilderness in September? I can't really come up with a good answer. Is it because of the High hunt?

Good question.  Also, why doesn’t that unit have a muzzleloader season?   :dunno:

Muzzleloader is open during high buck hunt, but it is retarded that there is no archery season for the unit.

can u still hunt with a bow, eventhough it's open for rifle? I know you can in general rifle season if you have a rifle tag.

i'm sure you could hunt the high hunt with a bow as long as you are hunting within the laws of a modern season, as in wearing orange, etc....not sure if you need a rifle tag or if that is an any weapon season.

Yeah I'm sure you could hunt with a bow up there if you had modern firearm tag.

There are so many other areas open to hunt during archery season though I'm not sure why a guy would want to hunt there.
