Looking for birds
« on: February 18, 2013, 07:02:05 PM »
Anybody have a line on birds for gundog training? Preferably in the Puget Sound region. Pigeons or chukar preferred.

Thanks,

Have a look in the free adds under the farm / animal sections.  See them in there from time to time.
Spent most of my $$ on huntin, fishin & retrievin dogs, the rest I just pretty much wasted.

Thanks for the tip. I do check Craigslist on a regular basis.
It just occurred to me The Little Nickel might be on-line these days too.

I would also be interested in doing a group buy. I have been looking for a while and I want to get some before my dog gets back.

Did anyone call Tom?

I might have a few to spare. I've recently been giving a few away when people get their pups.

Just got off the phone with him.  He does not have any for sale, just has his Homers.
I told him about all of us wanting birds.  He said he'll try and do some networking and find some.

Worked birds today for my 18 month old pups,I've been buying preserve chukars 1 weekend a month for the past three months for 5 younguns, absolutely the closest thing to the real mcoy you can get,9 month old birds that do not put up with zero BS from a dog and get up and airborne as you walk in on the point. Not savvy enough to get pictures from the camera to this laptop.Great day and great success with  the 4  dogs I took today.

I can get my hands on some quail, but only about 10 right now....

Outdoor Emporium, long handled net.

Trip to China Town alley.
