Well I didn't get the outcry that I thought I would.. :tung: :tung:. This board must be slow.   I was actually joking. :chuckle: :chuckle:

I have shot 3 blacktails that have field dressed at or over 200# and my father has shot a couple more than me. He had one 3x3 that was almost 220 field dressed, it was a toad and came from Thurston Co.

The only restriction on uploads and attachments is size. 5000kb for attachments and uploads. Generally speaking anything larger than that will be too big to show well on most 19 inch monitors and would take longer to upload anyway...

Thanks, hardest earned buck I ever shot. Got him 7AM the very last day of late buck in a monsoon after hunting hard for two full weeks that year. He was so intent on this doe, he didn't give a rip about me.

Nice buck D-Man!
He looks alot like the buck that I told ya about last season.  He is still around here and waiting for you!  Let's hope that he puts on an extra point this summer.

I saw the post earlier just now on blacktail body size. A very reliable source and family friend of ours for decades harvested a blacktail that field dressed at 238lbs this year in Pierce County. I also have taken a blackie that field dressed at 168lbs myself officially hung on a Hancock scale. If they have a clearcut tucked well away from the crowds, they can reach a decent size.

Dman - I was joking with reference to the weight of blacktails. Some people have never seen one over 150 lbs.

For a 14 year old deer mount that thing looks amazing in that picture!   I see mounts 2 and 3 years old with lips pulling, ears cracking, and eye skin pulling out.  From what I can see in that picture the taxidermist that did that deer knew what he or she was doing.

Michelle - Thanks. It only cost me about $175. He did 3 blacktails and 4 black bears for me and my family. He did great work at a great price, then went belly up. Actually he got in some trouble with F&G and then only did exotics, now I am not sure if he even does that.

Yeah, you don't want to get into trouble with F&G.  I keep everything in my shop legal.  Their is no other way to do it.  I don't want to be in violation of anything.  If I am not sure of something I will always call F&G and ask.  It's not worth it.  To bad about him.  From what I can see in the pictures he did good work!
