I'm a teacher and I wouldn't have an issue graded a paper on guns, but there are many that probably would. Many members of society have decided with a passion, that guns are evil, when in fact it is the user that is the problem. I wonder if the teacher would have had a problem if the paper was about the mental state or personality of murderers.

You sound like a teacher that is still grounded in reality.  Thank you.

Well, that's horsebleep.  We're going to have an essay question in my History of the Old West class about the impact of guns  "winning the west," and how guns have been used in fight against evil.  That's been a pretty constant theme this semester since the insanity of one individual back in December and how throughout our history and is exemplified in Western films and literature, guns have been a tool to defeat evil.  Certainly guns have used by evil throughout our history but imagine what terror would have reigned had not righteous people had guns to defeat evil.

glad that parent stood up on that teacher.
"When my bow falls, so shall the world. When me heart ceases to pump blood to my body, it will all come crashing down. As a hunter, we are bound by duty, nay, bound by our very soul to this world. When a hunter dies we feel it, we sense it, and the world trembles with sorrow. When I die, so shall the world, from the shock of loosing such a great part of ones soul." Ezekiel, Okeanos Hunter

News flash: Teachers are not nor should they be expected to be the standard bearers of the 2nd Amendment. I am convinced that anything Constitutionally relevant has been bred out of them. 90% are going to fall in line with the union and the Dept of ed, or the communists. Notice i made it small (ed).

For many public schools are mind control and indoctrination centers. Not every person or school but to often students and parents don't stand up against wrong. We pay them and I believe many teachers would seconded activist parents. If I am wrong we could defund schools locally. Police who carry their guns offensively to intimidate control the public as well. (Californian Police Chief.)

Yeah, I saw the other day something about banning homeschooling.  Eric Holder was saying there was not right to homeschool and kids should be brought up in the standardized schools.

:bash: :bash: :bash: My Buddy's kid was sent to the principal office because he said his dad killed a deer. The teacher said that it is not allowed to say kill in school. House *censored* that teacher try to change the views of hunting in there favor. I was in collage and a professor didn't like it that ever thing I turned in was about hunting and said so in front of the class. I looked at him and said (what did you said?) He just smiled and said he was joking and took my essay. I got a A- . I just don't like it that some teachers try to teach kids that gun and hunting is bad. My niece said that her teacher said that killing animal is wrong. I told her that I am not killing for fun. We are harvesting them for food and there is nothing wrong with that. Also guns aren't bad if used in a safe manner.

I had one teacher allow me to bring in bison, elk, and deer skins. I was given free reigns to discuss the benefits of hunting including how hunting supports wildlife programs. All schools and all teachers are not bad. As I see it the problem is bad ones are not rooted out often enough. Parents must do it with students.

Teachers aren't the only profession with anti gun members.

When exposed to these situations, a student with wise parents to provide a different perspective will have a child far more prepared for the real world than a sheltered one taught by someone who agrees with everything the student does. :twocents:

I'll bet the teacher eats meat...but just would rather hire the "killer" than butcher the amimal herself..

I'm happy to see a mother who is involved in her kid's education and who will stand up for their rights publicly. Especially in TX, this teacher's going to have a rough time forwarding his own agenda from here on, and that's a good thing.

Heck, half the stuff in my science classroom, when I was teaching, was stuff that I had shot.  My wife's one-room school house has 2/3 of my tanned skins, skulls, and other mounts in it.

Another reason to come to Decatur Island for a great education for your kids K-8.    8)
