The list and urgency has grown.  See my post made at 1:22:06 on 4-17-13

ALERT from the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF)

Write your U.S. senators and tell them to VOTE NO on the flawed Manchin-Toomey Amendment and YES on the solution-based Grassley alternative.

Change subject to:
Vote NO on Manchin-Toomey Amendment, YES on Grassley Proposal

Link to take action:

http://capwiz.com/nssf/issues/alert/?alertid=62592406&PROCESS=Take+Action

This only takes a minute to write your two state Senators at the same time.  Just enter your zip code, fill in your information, and submit your message.  FAST and EASY!

4-17-13
I altered the message as follows to accommodate the other Amendments revealed by the NSSF on 4-17-13.  Copy and paste it.

Subject:

Please Vote to Protect the Rights of Law-Abiding American Citizens

Message:

I am one of over 100 million law-abiding American citizens who responsibly own firearms for target shooting, hunting, personal and home defense and collecting. I care deeply about the Second Amendment, and oppose legislation that would restrict my right to keep and bear arms.

I am writing to you today to ask that you vote on the proposed amendments as follows:

OPPOSE  Manchin-Toomey amendment #715;
The Manchin-Toomey amendment would expand background checks, unfairly prioritize background checks at gun shows over checks at storefront retailers and expose retailers to product liability and record-keeping issues when processing private party transfers.

SUPPORT  Grassley substitute amendment;
The Grassley amendment offers real solutions by Fixing NICS and improving current law, without an expansion of background checks that would punish retailers and infringe on the Second Amendment.

SUPPORT   Cornyn amendment #719
The Cornyn amendment would guarantee the rights of gun owners to carry concealed firearms across state lines and within other states that also have conceal-carry laws.

OPPOSE   Feinstein amendment #711
The Feinstein amendment would bring back an expanded ban on so-called “assault weapons.” History shows that banning firearms and imposing arbitrary limits on the size of magazines will not reduce crime.

SUPPORT   Burr amendment #720
The Burr amendment would require a judicial authority to determine that an individual poses a danger to themselves or others before VA may send their names to be listed in the FBI’s NICS as a prohibited person.

OPPOSE   Lautenberg-Blumenthal amendment #714
The Lautenberg-Blumenthal amendment would impose an arbritrary 10 round limit on ammunition magazine capacity. The 1994 Assault Weapons Ban banned magazines capable of holding more than 10 rounds and did nothing to curb gun violence.

SUPPORT  Barrasso amendment #717
The Barrasso amendment would help protect the privacy of law-abiding gun owners by withholding federal funds from any state or local government that releases private gun ownership data, outside of criminal investigations.

By voting as I requested, you will be voting to protect the rights of law-abiding American citizens versus attacking those rights.

Thank you.

In addition to sending the email message, PLEASE CALL both of our Senator's Washington, D.C. offices TODAY.  It only takes couple of minutes.  We already know that they will vote for all the gun control they can get, but we need to let them know they are violating the trust of their constituents.

Tell them to:

1) Vote NO on the Toomey-Manchin-Schumer amendment!

2) Vote YES on the Grassley proposal.

When I pass, do not let my wife sell the guns for what I told her they cost.

How about the other amendments?  Or, did the whole thing get shot down?  I hope so.
