Are the elk bugling NE of Colvillere still?  Hoping the cool nights will keep them rutting into next weekend.  I know they are scattered there, but they have been seeing elk on the property we hunt.  Need to know?? if I should bring the bugle and cow calls??  Thanks in advance for any info.

You bet!!! There will still be rutting activity going on so use a locater bugle and lost cow calls to find them, then move in on them. Are you hunting muzzle? I keep trying to talk my friend into muzzle hunting up there on his property so I can call for him. Maybe next year.

Good luck,

Fulla

I was up north in pend oreille county for bow hunting and didn't hear a single bugle but did see some cows and a lone bull. I was there for six days.

I know where they are on the property and the Boise land behind.  I just wanted to know whether they are still talking or not.   Have never seen another hunter up there during muzzleloader.

You will have to make them talk, use the locator bugles and lost cow sounds to get them to respond to you. Then go after them, don't call again until you get close to them.
