Williams Creek (673)
« on: March 03, 2013, 02:12:30 PM »
I plan on doing some Elk hunting this year out there, and instead of my usual summer hikes, I have decided to take up elk scouting / shed hunting / predator hunting in the unit I plan to elk hunt.
It looks like from past harvest info that bear hunting here is fair.  Does anybody have any experience with this area?  I was thinking fawn distress might be a good call to use, or maybe cow elk?  What type habitat do bears prefer in this area?  Thanks!  Are there any places in particular down there that would be worth calling and finding out about?  Maybe tree farms that don't want the bears around, or timber companies that have a lot of spring damage.  Thanks!
