Deputies love to talk about their "discretion".  I'd say that Bear hunter is just using his own discretion.

:yeah:

Judging by the fact that he let some people off with a warning I'd say cut him a break.  :twocents:

I didn't call his boss. I called him to ask why he is telling people to wrong info. I didn't get anyone in trouble. It's not about me being right and him wrong. I just wanted to let some people that Jig for shiner perch. Using forage jig to be careful of the law. That's all. Hell he never even called me back. I am just going to have to talk to him in person next time I see him. I now may lots of people that jig for the shiners for bait. I told them last year and they sayed it was ok the warden said so. Like I side I asked the warden and he said the samething to me to. I was reading in to it more this up coming season and found that he was misleading people. By accident The other fisherman don't believe me. So that's why I am posting it. I am NOT TRYING TO GET ANYONE IN TROUBLE. If I was I would post his picture. Maybe I should of worded in diffrant on the subject. My Bad. So If you forage fish jig for bait. You can't keep shiner perch. The law is two barbless hooks only.

I just happened to be reading into it more last week and found he was misleading fisherman. So I posted it I am not Calling peoples bosses I just call him and asked the main office the rules just in case I was not understanding in. THATS ALL

My point? As far as giving those two guys warnings, is the officer really going to send two guys before a judge because they went 2 fish over on bait fish? Probably not, especially in King County where this occured. Salmon, steelhead, bass, crab would be a different story.

:bash: I know the guys that got the warning and Another bubby's friend which is not for washington. Was fishing Alki dock for sand dabs. He got a ticket for $90.00. His fault for not pinched the bard. I would just hate to see people jigging for shiners to get 90 dollars tickets x 6 or 9 depending on how many hooks on the rig. Its ok the have barbed hooks if you are forage jigging only, but if a fish other than forage fish bits. you must release it.  :twocents: or you could get a Ticket.  :twocents: Look up Forage fish and Jigging. Shiners are not listed and are even not listed under bottom fish either.  :dunno:
