Decent tranny shop in Thurston Co area?
« on: March 09, 2013, 03:47:35 PM »
Howdy all, have a question for those who have lived in this area longer than I have.  Does any one have a decent tranny shop they use and would take their rig to if it had problems?

It is a 1996 half-ton, 4x4 Dodge truck that is having some issues with the automatic tranny.   Never been one that was very well versed in transmissions.  It could be anything from a bad solenoid or torque converter to the entire tranny about to puke!

Hoping to get this worked out this summer so I can use it as my hunting rig.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions, I really haven't lived in this area long enough to know who to go to and who to avoid.

It's a bit of a hike, but not too bad - Try Darrel at Tower Transmission in North Centralia.  He was highly  recommended to me from a good mechanic.  He ain't cheep, but he did guarantee the tranny in my truck for as long as he was in business.
May that for which I prepare never come to pass.

My mechanic use to work for Dodge but he works on anything, does a great job, will not try to up sale or rip you off and is reasonably priced.  He is off of Tilly Road (kinda).  He and his Dad work out of their shop at their house.  The only guys I trust with my rigs.  PM me if you want more info.
