You guys are much more organized than me.  I have some water and a snack, a cushion, flashlight, license, a decoy, and a couple of calls, and my cell phone for emergencies.  I have the advantage of walking out my front door to hunt and knowing the hills well enough that I don't get lost.

I'm a minimalist.  In my vest I have the following:

1.  gps and headlamp
2.  3 diaphrams, 1 box, and a couple extra rubberbands
3.  extra long sleeve for those cold morning sits  ( I never pack a coat)
4.  bottle of water, sandwich, snickers
5.  knife and ziptie
6.  1 extra shell
7.  decoy ( I don't know why because I almost never use the stupid thing!)
8.  Travel pack of wetwipes and a little travel size gold bond.
You pretty much can't cut this gear list down anymore and my vest still weighs a ton!  I swear manufacturers sew lead weights in them or something!

Also to answer your question about why would ysomeone carry so many diaphrams.   Different diaphrams sound like different hens.  Say you work a bird in the morning but it falls apart or worse he busts you.  Do you think that same exact hen sound is gonna work later on? Probably not.   Back off of him and come back in a few hours from another direction and hit him with a different tone and you just might be able to stuff him in the vest!

So last year you didn't need the three shells or that extra one, could of saved even more weight there :dunno:   :chuckle: :chuckle:

Even though he's from Selah I'm with him on the weight factor,   :twocents:  one box call, a slate, three strikers, one of those a custom Jim Buck striker of course.  Four or five mouth calls and two locators one howler and a crow/owl combo.

Lol!  I just had bacon wrapped jalapeno turkey poppers last night!

Holy crap.  You guys carry a lot of stuff!  I keep 2 diaphrams in my pocket, two extra shells, one slate call, and a pocket knife.  I carry my one decoy under my arm.  No vest needed!
