while intentions might be ok on this but these pass my bet is anyone anti gun will file false claims against someone. Even if later they are found to be false good luck on getting any guns back.
"When my bow falls, so shall the world. When me heart ceases to pump blood to my body, it will all come crashing down. As a hunter, we are bound by duty, nay, bound by our very soul to this world. When a hunter dies we feel it, we sense it, and the world trembles with sorrow. When I die, so shall the world, from the shock of loosing such a great part of ones soul." Ezekiel, Okeanos Hunter

Thanks for posting.  There have been a couple of posts encouraging opposition to HB1612; it may need to be revitalized.  Central registries can and will be abused by governments and the media; history has shown this to be true over and over again.

They say the information will not be made public, but look at what is happening here:

The media and many of our legislators don't care about our privacy if it serves their agendas.  Take a close look at how this game is played.  By the way, we had better start a movement to protect our privacy regarding those holding CPL licenses.

I personally believe there are issues with HB1840 - Concerning firearms laws for persons subject to no-contact orders, protection orders, and restraining orders.  I say this because these "orders" may be issued and the accused tends to be guilty until they prove themselves innocent.  In the meantime they will be forced to give up their rights to possess firearms.  I have seen a law like this abused in another state where one vindictive neighbor had an unjustified restraining/no-contact type of order issued against another neighbor they didn't like.  The accused had to go through the expense of hiring an attorney and the investment of time to get the order removed.  These types of laws can and will be abused.  Many people don't see these risks; they just nod their head thinking it all sounds reasonable.  There may be to come on this one.

I would encourage people to read the bill.

I'm not sure about HB1383.
