Nature unspoiled? The mine at the top with the paved rd leading up from toroda cr really is pristine and beautiful, not to mention that pontiac ridge is not very unpopulated compared to the surrounding area, not saying a wolf or wolves would not pass through there and pick up a scooby snack on the way, but remain there i kinda doubt.. my bs meter is on high...

Humm, the op states that someone on pontiac ridge told him that some of the locals have adopted the shoot shovel and no tell attitude, but his find was not buried, so was he really on pontiac ridge, and why would a local tell someone that they shoot shovel and no tell, when in fact that is telling?
I am confused, and this was 4 yrs ago, i dont think wdfw had introduced wolves to pontiac ridge at that time, i think it was more recent... and why was he in a tree stand, was he hunting in the pristine forrest?  And why a whitetail fawn when there are alpacas roaming that area?

 Hell, we have Mods that do that!  I haven't heard banjo's when I've been up there ( I have 13 Ac. there) but I've never been there unarmed. had I seen the chase...well never mind!

"Pontiac Ridge" is an eyesore to me.  Bunch of crazies from all corners is the best I can desrcribe it.  A place I have no desire to ever roam again.
