I refuse to give the Parks (and most other gov agencies) extra $ because they do not even seem to grab the low hanging fruit in the decision making category. There are SOOOO many little things that could add up and make a big difference for both the citizens and the different departments yet no one can seem to make a decision... It has been said to me before that "Indecision IS a decision, and is often worse that making a decision that that is not 90% perfect.  :twocents:

For what it's worth, A good friend of mine formerly a park ranger in the san jaun's now a gamie, wanted to horse log some blown down timber in area's of the park that was basically useless because of so much blowdown, he has a extensive background in timber and figured after cost's it would generate a net income of 220 grand with minimal damage, and make that area of the park useable again. As per usual it was a no go. I have and do some danger tree work at state parks around the state and most times it cost's them about 5 grand to take out 20,000 in timber and they just let it lay and rot! I know it's not a popular idea but when the tree's got to go anyhow they might as well sell em. I harvest about 5-6 acres a year for the tacoma school dist. on their tree farm which funds their summer school program.  just a idea to maybe generate a little more revenue.
go ahead on er.
