Stabilizer for an invasion? 5 or 7 pin sight?

Getting an invasion in the next week and need a stabilizer, have had the basic simms on prior bows, but looking for something different. What is the best one from people who have this bow and shoot a stabilizer?

Also cant decide on a sight. I have been shooting a spot hogg 5 pin with a wrap, I think I want a 7 pin but cant decide

Invasion is so well balanced I shoot a shorter stabilizer than usual on it.  That's one of the benefits to Sims Modular stabilizer.  I buy two at a time then break them down and arrange modules as needed for each bow.  As long as Steve keeps making them I will never change.  Even if the configuration does.  The 2013 model is even better than the ones I've been shooting for years.  It's a great improvement

7 pins 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 & 90 ...way more than I would want.  I tried one for goofing around with and it was a target panic nightmare.  Decided I needed to spend a whole season with it to see if I could get used to it.  Never happened!  If I want to shoot long range now I go Sure-Lok slider.  But everyone is different   I won't bad mouth ya too much of you do it   Just be warned.  It will rip you up if you have a target panic tendency like I do.

I have the target panic but I never seem to notice it hunting.  I shoot a 7 pin on my hunting bow 20-80 yards

I like that nap apache my self. I have the sdp spot hog on my bow too which is 35, 45, 55, 65, 75, 85,95. Now I need a range I can shoot past 65 yds to finish sighting in .

See if you can try out a stabilizer on the bow before you throw the money out. I really want to try a donkier on mine but dont want to throw the money down before I know what its like.

thanks so far, this is for hunting. I like the 5 pin, but want to be able to shoot at 85 with no holdover or on the back. The sdp is what I was considering, as far as stabilizer I think shooting a few is the best idea so far.

Go with a slider if your shooting past 65 yards.

I shoot a 4 pins slider for hunting. I also have a 7 pin sight too. But prefer the slider for hunting set up.

  For a stabilizer... I currently shoot a B-stinger and I really like it. I have also used Fuse, and Sims. Both were very good as well. All of these systems were "adjustable" so you have the option of more or less weight, to customize what feels best for you and your setup.

   It sounds like you are pretty set on shooting some " long range" if so you will need to set up your rig to do so. If your questioning it at all going with either a 7 pin or slider will give you more options.   

  As far as sliders vs fixed..... personal preference. Im convinced the most accurate is a slider although for various reasons I shoot a 7 pin fixed. I agree with Radsav if tendency toward TP is there putting the "pick a pin" Into the "pick a spot" shot sequence will be confusing.

   If you do go the slider route, I would play with the "trick pin" system for sure.

With today’s fast shooting bows 10-30 shot placement is so close. If you’re at 10 yard increments put your 20 yard pin on 10 yard target and you will see. What poundage of bow are you shooting? 80-90 yards is a long way to be shooting at an animal with 65lbs or less. More than 5 pins blind together for me. If you not comfortable with shooting that far go with 5 pin.  Montana Black Gold all the way for me.

What will I see :dunno:my pins start at 20 yards and go out to 60 on my 3-D bow and start at 20 and go to 80 on my hunting bow.  I don't know many people that put pins on odd numbers like 85.

I dont like anything more than 5 pins in m.y sight picture.i was recently running an mbg ascent with a vengeance 5 pin head that got me out to 109 yards.great sight but went backto asi mple fixed five pin.i really like my doinker dish for stabilizatio

I just picked up a G5 Optix XR,  haven't gotten it on and setup yet though.  Still in the package so I can't review it just yet.

80-90 yards is a long way to be shooting at animals with any poundage bow.  This type of thing is what gives bowhunters a bad rap..IMO

appreciate the responses, but this is why many do not post (people telling them how to hunt/how far they should shoot) (and with rifles I have seen people post that 250 is the absolute max range hunters should shoot at  ) this is the modern era, many archers can shoot at 100 yards. I have no problem taking shots at 80-90, because I can shoot better at that range than some at 30-40. You long range shooters would agree. And to me 60 is not long range.

85 was a general number I just threw out there. I like the idea of a slider, might check one out.

Long range shots are risky. I have bow hunted for 25years. At 100yrds I can hit a 2' square target 9 out of 10 shots, At 40yrds or less, I can hit a paper plate 10 out of 10. I have harvested a deer every single year, and all have been 40yrds or closer. I have also never wounded an animal.  The point is, why take a chance at long range, the passion for me(and most archery hunters) is to see how close I can get to the animal.

I use 4 pins: 20, 30, 40, and 50.  real hunters can get within 50.  and seriously, that's what makes hunting fun.   maybe 60 if you're a better shot than me and have a faster arrow.  a single yard or even a half yard makes too much difference at long range.  a little slope...a little wind...a little movement...a little gut shot.

if you want to shoot an animal from a distance, leave the bow at home and use your boom-stick.

there are a rare few who can pull it off ethically, and more power to you.  I, personally, have never ever had more fun hunting than trying to get a$$-slapping close to elk herds in september.

Long Shots should stay on the range . You may be able to shoot a tick off a bulls bananas at 100yrds, but who says the animals is gonna be there when the arrow gets there I too keep my shots to 50 yrds

I have always used a 7 pin spot hogg. Not that I used the longer pins, but have used them to knock down wounded animals. Also good to practice at longer ranges, will definately help you at shorter ranges. This year switched to a CBE Tek hunter with 5 pins, (.010") size and love it. It is a mover sight much like a Hogg Father, so you can practice long ranges, which I do. Does make the short shots seem much easier.
