We have a yellow lab pup we are training for sheds. We are using Bill Hillman videos for the basic stuff... Primarily building the retrieve drive and teaching the fetch command. We just started collar conditioning and we are going to force fetch him. The only training he will get a treat for is when he delivers a shed to hand.

Keep your training sessions short and make sure you keep it fun. We only work our dog on formal training 3-4 times a week for 15-20 minutes....but don't be fooled by the short sessions.... Training a puppy right can be a lot of work.

Matt, check out this thread it has some good info. There are a few videos from Tom Dokkens on it that might help you out.

Thanks for the tips everyone.
He is already coming when called and fetching, so I have high hopes for him!
