I have probably 5 or so that color around there the only eastern I've shot was around canyon creek years ago
It's funny I've called In Several smaller birds since Monday this one ran in I've been trying to get mr hooks his been around along time he's got 2 in spurs and a double beard I could have shot him yesterday In My yard he wont leave his hens where he roosts ive tried to get him gobbles like crazy before coming out then shuts up  but the rule for my son even applies to me no killing stuff in the yard  sometimes I hate that rule lol

the colors of that bird sure look like a Eatern.. I know where your at from the pic but man that looks like a eastern... i would say eastern, love the carmel/copper tale fan...  but ya i know what your saying by the demographics of classification..  :tup:

Awesome photo and beautiful bird. 

I sometimes disagree with the Merriam or Rio or Hybrid debate because too many folks swear Merriam's are always snow white (BS), but I have to say that one is far enough from the range of expected colors that I'd have guessed Eastern.  Regardless, he's still an awesome bird.  He looks pure turkey to me.

Congrats and thanks for sharing the amazing pic of your Klick bird.

Coloration is also effected by the birds diet and will change with what he's eating.  But Easterns are a darker chocolate color ....
