.300 Win Mag hand loads

Went out today to shoot my first ever rifle hand loads. It's a good feeling when the first one goes BANG!
I brewed up a few different load charges at 0.5 grain increments. At 100 yds I labeled each group. Is it simply selecting the tightest group? I didn't have a chronograph, so velocities are not considered. It's obvious which loads were better than others as far as the groupings. Surprisingly on the lower scale of the charge too.
Any help with this is appreciated.
I'm thinking I should work up a few more at the loads which I found to be better and start the process of elimination.

Tagging to follow as well.  I am starting to research a laod for my 300 as well so any info you have would be great.  In my experienced with my .270 the lighter loads (powder wise) always shot better.

Mine is a 26" 10 twist and we are shooting the 180 accubonds over 69 grains imr4831 powder.

71.0-74.0 charge range to start (loaded a few of each at 0.5 increments)

The .300 Win Mag is one of my all time go to cartridges. They like to be pushed hard and are one of the most forgiving cartridges when it comes to seating depth. Most shoot just as well "Jammed" as they do jumped 40 thou.

I will always sacrifice a little bullet weight in a hunting cartridge for a substantial increase in speed. A 165gr Accubond out of a .300 Win Mag @ 3300 plus. Will out do a 180gr bullet any day at typical hunting ranges, I've done it time and time again with both and the 165gr combo is a flat shooting hard hitting big game killing machine.

Give 79grs of RL-22 a try behind a 165gr bullet and work up from there, watch for pressure signs and run it as hot as your rifle will handle it.
